A dog care log you can fill in with one tap

Okaypup's care log records four everyday events for your dog: fed, walk, meds and potty. One tap saves the event with the current time, and a longer press adds the amount, a different time or a note. It stays on your iPhone and exports to JSON or CSV for free.

How do I log something?

Open the Today tab. The quick row shows the four events. Tap one and it is saved with the time you tapped.

Use the longer press or the three-dot menu when you need to change the time, add an amount or write a note.

  1. Open Today.
  2. Tap Fed, Walk, Meds or Potty.
  3. Long-press for time, amount and note.
  4. Check the feed below to see the day.

What stops me from logging the same thing twice?

When you log an event of the same kind again within a short window, Okaypup shows an alert before saving. Two people feeding the same dog is the classic case, and the alert gives you a chance to check the feed first.

Entries carry a By field that defaults to your name. In version 1 it is a local label, since there is no shared account.

Where does the log show up?

The feed on Today lists recent entries. The log also feeds the visit summary, which includes the last 72 hours, and it counts toward walk and streak milestones on the Pup Card.

What the log does not do

It does not judge an entry. Okaypup will not say a dog ate too little or walked too far. Those numbers are yours, and your vet is the person to interpret them.

Who is it for?

Anyone who shares dog care with a partner, a family, a sitter or a dog walker, and anyone who wants to remember what happened this week without relying on memory. It is also a good fit for the first months with a new dog, when routines are still forming.

Read how to build the habit in what to track each day. It also covers what to skip, so the log stays quick.

What about walks and potty history?

Beyond the quick row, the Health tab has a walk log and a potty log with fuller history. Walks and the log streak feed Pup Card milestones such as 100 walks and a 7-day streak. History stays readable even if Plus ends. Only adding new Plus-only items gets locked.

Is the care log free?

Yes. The terms say the care log stays free, and features that were free when you started are not moved behind Plus later. You can export all entries any time from Me > Privacy and data.

What does each entry store?

Every entry has a time and a By label. The rest depends on the type.

EntryDetails you can add
FedPortion and food
WalkDuration and whether the dog pulled or reacted
MedsName and dose as written on the label
PottyPee, poop or both, outside or accident, consistency 1 to 5
NoteFree text and an optional photo

How do I find or fix an entry?

Open the feed under Today. You can filter it by food, walks, meds, potty or notes, search it by text and load older entries. Tap an entry to see its details or delete it. Deleting asks for confirmation and cannot be undone.

Can I get a weekly recap?

Yes, if you switch it on. Me > Notifications has a weekly summary for Sunday at 18:00, such as how many walks and good days your dog had that week. It is scheduled on your phone and you can turn it off at any time.

How is it different from a notes app or a paper chart?

A notes app holds anything, which is the problem: you have to build the structure yourself. The care log gives you the four events as buttons and checks for duplicates.

Honest limits

Version 1 keeps data on one iPhone with no account, so two phones do not sync. The By label is typed by you and is not verified. The log also does not suggest portions, walk lengths or schedules.

What does a typical day look like?

You open Today in the morning and tap Fed after breakfast. The status card at the top reads Last log with the time, and shows All logged today once the meals and the reminders are done. A midday walk is one tap on Walk. In the evening you tap Meds when the tablet goes in, and if your partner already did it, the alert tells you who and when.

Anything unusual goes into a note, with a photo if it helps. At the end of the week you can scroll the feed and see the rhythm.

Which language and units does it use?

The app follows your iPhone language in English or Russian, and you can switch in Me > Language. Me > Units switches weight and distance between kilograms and pounds and sets a 12-hour or 24-hour clock. Changing units changes how numbers are shown and leaves your entries as they are.
